There is some confusion, I can see how you came to your assumption. The element shown as MANN-FILTER is listed as “counterfeit” - what is meant by this is a copied OEM part (i.e. a fake item). It does not mean MANN-FILTER is not a good filter. The OEM BMW part shown also has MANN-FILTER branding, as it is made by us. The intention is to educate against cheap copies of OEM parts in the marketplace, not genuine Aftermarket parts such as MANN-FILTER.
The “Oil filter specialists” shown are actually MANN+HUMMEL employees, I believe that this part of the video was actually shot in our laboratory. We have such a relationship with BMW as an OEM supplier, we were seen as the correct choice to assist with this film.
MANN+HUMMEL are a supplier of filtration systems and components (and injection moulded plastics) to all major vehicle assemblers (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Ford, PSA, VAG, GM etc). The MANN-FILTER items we also produce do not differ in any way to the item we make as OEM, and are purely labelled differently. You need not have any concerns about MANN-FILTER quality or specification. Indeed, for many BMW parts, you will see the MANN-FILTER part number also on the filter element, usually with our logo.
I work at MANN+HUMMEL UK, where we are actually currently making the complete oil filter module for the BMW 1 Series, as the OEM supplier.
Svo það er á hreinu að ef þú ert búinn að sjá MANN filter fara í döðlur í olíuskiptum þá er það vegna of löngu millibili á smurningu eða þá ekki alvöru MANN filter.
