Hi
I've been having the same problems as described in various posts regarding KB937287 with the "configuring updates stage 3 of 3 0% complete" message upon rebooting.
However, this didn't happen to me until recently, on the 12th of March. The thing is, is seems that KB937287 did install correctly, as I didn't have any problems when it installed on the 14th of February. In my update history I see that Update for Windows Vista KB940510 installed on the 10th of March succsessfully. But on the 12th of March Update for Windows Vista KB946041 is installed successfully according to the update history, BUT, I start having problems similar to the ones described in this article (
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949358/en-us).
However, my problems aren't as severe. I'm not stuck in an endless reboot loop, but I get the "configuring updates stage 3 of 3 0% complete" message both when shutting down and booting up. I get to the login screen and the Vista seems to be alright, but switching user accounts and logging off takes ages, and of course shutting down and starting up is slow due to the configuring updates message.
I have tried restoring my system back before Update KB946041 is installed and that brings everything back to normal, but when updates automatically next time I am back in the same place, and I have to restore back before KB946041 is installed.
I have tried looking for problems related to KB946041, but I can't find any, so I think the problem is with KB937287. However, as KB937287 seems to have installed correctly, and I can't restore my system so far back in time, so I don't know what I can do.
Any help would be most appreciated. Thanx
